The CLPAC now has a PayPal payment option for donations. This means that contributions can be made online, without sending a check, thus making it easier to use the CLPAC website to make a donation. CLPAC will soon be working with the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL) to accommodate making CLPAC contributions via PayPal in conjunction with payments for conference registrations and membership dues.

Donor Appreciation Categories Expanded

There is now a "Platinum" category level to recognize those people who have donated the maximum allowable $250 annual contribution to the CLPAC. Those people will automatically receive passes to all subsequent fund-raising events throughout the fiscal year, including tickets to "Hot Jazz and Cool Brew," in appreciation of their early and generous support.

CLPAC continues to urge all library supporters to make a contribution, the earlier in the year, the better! The good news is that thus far in 2004 CLPAC has received $2,260 in contributions; the bad news is that amount reflects donations from only 18 people.

So please, if you haven't already reached for that checkbook, do so today!! Everyone's help is needed to keep CLPAC strong and enable it to continue its work for all Colorado libraries. Make sure your name is on the 2004 donor "Thank You" list, and encourage your colleagues, library Friends, and Board members to join you there!

CLPAC urges all concerned library supporters to consider making the following commitment: give at least ¼ of one percent (that's equivalent to $25 on every $10,000) of your annual salary to further this cause. Because Amendment 27 limits the amount of money that can be contributed to political action committees to $250 per person per year, it is no longer possible to rely on the largesse of a few major contributors to carry CLPAC financially. Please be as generous as possible, and make that donation today to help sustain this critically important element in attaining political support for Colorado's libraries. Many thanks!!
